A source close to Beijing-based web game developer and operator Kunlun Wanwei Technology revealed recently that the company's Unity 3D-based browser game Twin Heroes is now responsible for more than RMB 20 mln in monthly revenues. That figure includes revenues from Kunlun Wanwei's servers as well as Hong Kong/Macau/Taiwan-based servers and revenues from joint operations agreements.
Kunlun Wanwei announced in April that Twin Heroes was responsible for generating over RMB 1 mln per game server. The company currently has more than 50 servers powering the game at its own facilities, as well as more than 120 servers jointly operated with leading Chinese game platforms including Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU), 4399 Network, and 37wan.
According to a Kunlun Wanwei employee, Twin Heroes has also been performing well in the non-Mainland markets of Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan, with monthly revenues of NTD 30 mln (RMB 6.18 mln) in the month since the game launched. The company is planning to launch Twin Heroes in other Southeast Asian markets, including Vietnam and Thailand.
