Rumor: Kindle to Launch in China on June 7

According to an industry source, Amazon will release both the company's Kindle e-reader series and Kindle Fire tablet computer series in China on June 7. Customers will be able to purchase the devices from Amazon China's website and in dedicated areas set up within retail outlets of consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ).

Editor's Note: Sina Tech reports that the Kindle e-readers to be released in China include both the Wi-Fi and 3G versions of the Kindle Paperwhite, of which the Wi-Fi version will be priced for as low as RMB 849. Among the Kindle Fire series, the Kindle Fire HD will be priced at approximately RMB 1,400-1,500.
