CCID, 5/06/13
At the second annual Global Mobile Game Congress in Beijing on May 6, Zhang Peng, GM of China Telecom's (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) gaming portal e-Game, announced that e-Game plans to develop a "light gaming interactive entertainment platform." e-Game will establish dedicated operations and customer experience teams for the new platform, and will work with game developers to fine-tune billing settings for their games. In addition to offering its own billing SDK, e-Game will support payment through third-party platforms. The portal will offer user, data, and marketing resources in support of its partners.
e-Game now has more than 120 mln users, Zhang said, with over 30 mln monthly active users, and paying users comprising an average of 30% of its single-player gamers.
The "light games" offered by e-Game will feature "light controls" (ease of use), "light time requirements," "light data requirements," and "light costs."
