On March 27, Shanghai-based digital advertising solutions provider Zamplus Advertising revealed that it received approximately USD 20 mln in first-round funding from Northern Light Venture Capital (NLVC) and Intel Capital early this year.
Zamplus Advertising recently announced that it will launch a new real-time remarketing platform, Zampda, similar to Google Remarketing. Remarketing services allow websites to target ads at customers who place items into their online shopping carts but do not place orders. Zamplus also operates ZampDSP, a demand-side platform for ad buyers.
Founded in 2011 by former Google China employee Tang Qifeng and Lenovo (0992.HK) SVP Liu Jun, Zamplus is now chiefly overseen by Tang Qifeng. Zamplus employs roughly 100 people in Shanghai, most of them involved in technology. The company had revenues of more than RMB 100 mln in 2012, according to Tang, and has several dozen major clients including China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH), Shanghai GM, Huawei, Ping An Insurance, consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ), Shenzhen-based internet company Tencent (0700.HK), Google, and Hangzhou-based C2C & B2C e-commerce site Taobao.
According to Tang Qifeng, Zamplus will use its first-round funding to recruit new employees, purchase new hardware, and establish a Silicon Valley subsidiary.
