EMC China Releases Five-Year Plan

Global IT infrastructure technology, solutions, and services provider EMC Corporation's China headquarters today announced the five-year development plan for the company's China operations. Ye Chenghui, global senior VP of EMC and president of EMC Greater China, revealed his target to quintuple revenue over the next five years, just as it has quintupled over the past five years when EMC China achieved a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35%. In the past five years, revenue from small and medium enterprise (SME) services increased six-fold, whereas revenue from management solutions and software services increased ten-fold. In 2012, EMC China's revenue increased by more than 28%.
EMC China's five-year development plan, Ye revealed, also includes plans to expand the company's local industry ecosystem, increasing the company's channel partners from 3,578 to 20,000. Ye stated that EMC China is currently engaged in partnership talks with a number of companies, although he didn't go into detail because negotiations are still underway.
Ye also revealed plans for three areas of business development in the next five years. In cloud computing services, EMC China will look to have at least 1,000 cloud computing projects underway in over 300 cities in China within the next five years. In big data solutions, EMC China aims to make new acquisitions and increase revenue by ten-fold. Finally, EMC China will look to take 50% of the market in data center management services within the next five years.
