Baosteel Orders Company-wide Uninstall of Qihoo 360 Software

BiaNews, 2/22/13

According to an internal notice, state-owned steel producer Baosteel has required that all of its employees remove all software from Chinese internet services and security software provider Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) from company PCs. As detailed in the notice, Qihoo 360's security software client incorrectly classifies Baosteel's office management system as malicious software and prevents it from working properly. In addition, the amount of user behavior data recorded by the software presents a possible security risk to Baosteel.

Chinese internet company Netease (Nasdaq: NTES), robotics manufacturer ABB, and other companies have recently ordered employees to remove all Qihoo 360 software from company machines.
