Rumor: Tencent Invests in Online Education Firm Juesheng

An industry source revealed today that Shenzhen-based internet giant Tencent (0700.HK) is preparing to wholly acquire Juesheng Education Technology (Juesheng.com), the online education site founded by Dai Zheng, former VP of Chinese Internet firm Baidu's (Nasdaq: BIDU) online travel services subsidiary Qunar, for an undisclosed sum. Juesheng Education Technology's businesses include Juesheng.com, Beijing-based test-preparation schools, and study-abroad and training services for the China Education Service Center, as well as a training recommendation engine that assesses student ability and potential.
