Tencent to Release Interactive Projector
Tencent Tech, 12/28/12
Tencent (0700.HK) will soon launch the company's "Qrobot" interactive portable projector on its B2C e-commerce site 51buy.com. The RMB 1,999 interactive "micro-projector" was developed by Tencent in partnership with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Richen Technology. The Qrobot projector can be controlled through a specially-designed laser pointer or stylus. Aiming the laser pointer at the image projected by the Qrobot projector, or drawing on the surface of the projected image with the stylus, will allow users to control power point presentations, mark images, and play games, among other features.
The Qrobot uses digital light processing (DLP) technology developed by Texas Instruments and can project images over 120 inches. The Qrobot comes with USB and HDMI ports for connection with computers, tables, and other devices. The product is designed to last for up to 10,000 hours of projection time.
