MIIT to Expand Mobile Number Portability Trials in 2013

Miao Wei, head of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), announced at the 2012 National Industry and Informatization Work Forum in Beijing today that MIIT will release a new edition of the Telecom Industry Classification Catalog, expand mobile phone number portability trials, and adjust inter-network settlement policy.
Number portability trials were launched in Hainan and Tianjin in 2009 and 2010.
