Tencent's Cloud Platform to Target Mobile Developers

Pony Ma, chairman and CEO of Chinese internet giant Tencent (0700.HK), recently disclosed that the company's cloud platform will provide comprehensive technical support for mobile developers next year, including social cloud storage, P2P communication, and mobile data analytics. Developers' cumulative revenue share from Tencent's open platform reached RMB 1 bln this year, with three developers each taking in over RMB 20 mln in monthly revenue.
Since launching two years ago, Tencent's cloud platform hosts over 25 developers with more than 1 mln daily active users and more than 30 developers with over 100,000 peak concurrent users. The platform consists of over 20,000 servers. Tencent plans to open its cloud platform to developers outside of Tencent's open platform next year.
