Suning Obtains Nationwide Courier Service License

The State Post Bureau website published a notice today announcing that Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ) is one of 12 companies to receive a license to operate courier services.
According to the notice, Suning's courier delivery service operations (not including State Post Bureau-provided services) will cover cities in 11 provinces and municipalities, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin; Nanjing, Suzhou, and Wuxi, Jiangsu province; Wuhan, Hubei province, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia; Kunming, Yunnan province, Guangzhou, Guangdong province; Jilin and Changchun, Jilin province; Harbin, Heilongjiang province; and Xi'an, Shaanxi province.
Suning's B2C e-commerce platform Suning.com announced in June 2012 that the company would begin offering in-store pickups at 1,800 Suning retail outlets for purchases from Suning.com. Suning's 30,000 after-sales staff will also begin providing some delivery services through the company's 4,000 after-sales service points.
