China Telecom Launches Mobile Data Recharge Card
Sohu IT, 12/12/12
China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) recently announced the launch of mobile data balance recharge cards in Beijing. The RMB 10, RMB 20, and RMB 30 cards cover 60 Mb, 150 Mb, and 300 Mb of traffic, respectively.
Unlike standard data plans, the new China Telecom data balance cards make traffic allowances immediately available upon recharge, as opposed to requiring subscribers to apply for additional data effective the following month. Subscribers can purchase the cards to add additional data on top of their existing plan allowance, and can use multiple cards. The data balance will carry over automatically between months, and will remain usable for 90 days following recharge.
The cards may be applied to China Telecom numbers from all over China, cover local and roaming data, and can be used either to charge subscribers' own accounts or accounts owned by others. Subscribers can purchase the cards at China Telecom service centers or through online channels including the operator's BestPay online payment website and e-commerce platforms 360Buy and Taobao, or can apply their existing talk fee balance toward the purchase of cards.
