According to an industry source, Zhan Zhonghui, former co-COO of Netease (Nasdaq: NTES), has founded his own online gaming firm, "Ejoy." The company's first game, "Kuang Ren," has recently entered into beta-testing.
Zhan founded Ejoy with Yu Yunyang, head developer of Netease MMORPGs Westward Journey Online and Fantasy Westward Journey.
Ejoy has confirmed on its official website that the company was founded by Zhan in 2011. According to the website, Ejoy is primarily engaged in the development and licensed operation of online games.
According to Ejoy Brand Manager Lu Ximeng, Kuang Ren is a 2.5D fighting game developed in partnership with Chengdu-based online game developer Zgame. Ejoy is also currently developing another unnamed MMORPG, and plans to follow a model of one game release and one game under development per year.
