The Suishou Wan platform currently has over 10 mln combined PC and mobile registered users and offers over 1,600 Android games.
The 17Fox J3 smartphone will be sold through limited pre-sales, similar to the sales model used by Beijing-based smartphone vendor Xiaomi, accepting pre-orders for an initial batch of 10,000 units on mobile phone e-commerce site 139Shop.com on December 12, to be shipped on January 12, 2013.
Tony Kong, CEO of TechFaith's gaming business, 798 Entertainment, said the previous generation smartphone, the J2, saw domestic sales exceed 100,000 units, with 70% of orders placed by enterprise users including the Ministry of Public Security and China's petroleum and shipping industries, while the remaining 30% of orders came primarily from young outdoor athletics enthusiasts.
