Sina Microblog Revamps Search Homepage
Sohu IT, 12/05/12
Chinese internet company Sina's (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo microblogging service has launched a new search engine homepage. The most notable change to the homepage is a new feature allowing users to subscribe to popular keywords and initiate searches by clicking on a list of subscribed keywords below the search panel.
On the search engine homepage users can input their own keywords to the subscription feature or choose keywords recommended by Sina Weibo. After selecting the keywords, the number of related posts will be updated in real-time, appearing on the right side of each keyword.
Furthermore, Sina Weibo's new search engine homepage has a list of recent popular keyword searches below the search bar, with the latest searches marked by the word "new." Related Weibo posts will pop up when users run their mouse over the keywords.
The homepage has also added an annotation feature that lists a brief description of the topic on the right side of every popular keyword search.
