360Buy Plans "12/12" Promotion

On November 29, Beijing-based B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy announced plans for a new sale promotion on December 12. Cheng Junyi, senior vice president at 360Buy, said that this year's "12/12" promotion will focus on "amusements" and building customer loyalty, rather than simply being a price-based promotion. "Amusements" include the "360Buy Angels," a delivery team made up of attractive young women who will deliver a certain percentage of orders, eight smart cars that 360Buy will raffle off at low prices, and "customer care" services including increased return periods for low-cost computers and books.

Cheng predicted that order volumes for 360Buy's 12/12 sale will exceed those for this year's June 18 anniversary sale, and will be several times as much as recent daily average order volumes. 360Buy saw 1.5 mln single-day orders during its June 18 sale, and has recently had averages of roughly 700,000 orders per day.
