Sogou, CNNIC's KNET Partner on Internet Security
Southern Daily, 11/16/12
Chinese Internet firm Sohu's (Nasdaq: SOHU) online search subsidiary Sogou has formed a strategic partnership with internet infrastructure service provider KNET, a subsidiary of the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC), and KNET's website verification services have already been integrated into the Sogou browser and Sogou search engine. Search results for keywords such as "plane tickets" or "railway tickets" will display website verification information so that users can avoid fraudulent websites.
For example, when users search for "plane tickets," each search result will display a label indicating the site's "website operator category," specifying whether the site is operated by an individual, enterprise, organization, or government body. If users place their mouse cursor over the label, a pop-up will display the registrant, website name, website address, and registration information for the site, as well as a "detailed information" link that provides additional information regarding the identity of the website.
