Suning Launches Year-end Sales Event

Chinese consumer electronics and home appliances retailer Suning (002024.SZ) today announced that it will launch its end-of-the-year final sales event this week, which will last for four days and four nights. Customers who make purchases during the promotion will receive coupons to buy select items for RMB 1, similar to the previous "RMB 0" promotion that offered customers coupons equivalent to the value of their purchase. Suning's stores will offer 15-20% discounts on all products during the sale.
In early 2012, Suning.com set an annual target to maintain at least RMB 20 bln and attempt to reach RMB 30 bln in total sales volume, but as of the end of the third quarter, Suning.com's sales volume had reached only RMB 9.56 bln.
