Update: Tencent Acquires Five Companies in Q3 2012

Tencent (0700.HK) has revealed in the Chinese-language version of its Q3 2012 financial report that the company took controlling stakes in five companies during the quarter. Tencent did not report the names of the acquired companies, nor did it mention the acquisitions in the English-language version of its financial results.
According to Tencent, the company took a 100% stake in an MMO game developer, a 100% stake in a mobile tools developer, and a 51% stake in a publisher and online reading developer. The company also increased its stake in an unnamed e-commerce company to 58% and increased its stake in a mobile browser developer from 40% to 100%.
