Trunkbow Q3 2012 Profit Up 300% YoY

Beijing-based wireless value-added services (WVAS) and mobile application provider Trunkbow International (Nasdaq: TBOW) has announced its financial results for the three months ended September 30, 2012. Q3 2012 revenue was USD 9.0 mln, an increase of 57.0% YoY, as compared with revenue of USD 5.8 mln in the same period a year ago.
Net income attributable to Trunkbow was USD 3.2 mln, an increase of 300% YoY USD 0.8 mln in the third quarter of 2011.
Revenue from WVAS increased 131.3% YoY to USD 8.5 mln, as compared with USD 3.66 mln in the same period of 2011. The increase in WVAS revenue was primarily attributed to growth in WVAS software sales. Revenue from the company's mobile payment solution (MPS) offerings decreased 72.2% YoY to USD 0.6 mln, as compared with USD 2.1 mln in the same period of 2011. The decrease in MPS revenue was attributable to a reduction of MPS system integration and software sales.
Trunkbow reaffirmed its 2012 year-end financial guidance, which calls for approximately USD 17 mln in net income.
