Logink, the national transportation and logistics public information platform established by the Ministry of Transport and the Zhejiang provincial government, signed a partnership agreement with Chinese e-commerce conglomerate Alibaba Group's logistics platform in Hangzhou today. The agreement calls for Logink and Alibaba to partner on the development of e-commerce logistics information and routing standards and logistics industry trust systems, and to cooperate on projects promoting upstream and downstream integration of the logistics industry chain.
Logink was established as an infrastructure network providing routing information exchange for the logistics industry, and is China's most broadly scoped public, open, and shared platform for logistics information at present. More than 100,000 users are connected to the platform, which has processed some 230 mln routing information requests to date and handles a steady 800,000 requests per day.
Alibaba's logistics platform has added more than 2,000 logistics companies to date, for more than 1.5 mln delivery routes covering all of China. The new agreement with Logink will allow Alibaba to establish streamlined connection channels, permitting any logistics companies using the other platform to share data to Alibaba's platform through Logink.
A spokesperson for Alibaba Group said that both B2B members of Alibaba and B2C vendors on the company's TMall and Taobao sites would be able to connect to the platform seamlessly.
