LeTV to Release TV STB Next Month

Newly appointed senior VP Yang Fang recently divulged on his personal microblog that Chinese online video site LeTV (Leshi) (300104.SZ) will officially release its C1 smart TV set-top box (STB) next month. The C1 comes equipped with a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 with the newly-developed LeTV user interface, Dolby sound processing, Airplay functionality, HDMI and USB ports, and Wi-Fi connectivity.

LeTV has already created a TV app store, LeTV Store, which offers over 1,000 TV apps from 360Buy, Sina (Nasdaq: SINA) Weibo, and Renren (NYSE: RENN).

On September 19, LeTV announced plans to enter the smart TV market with its "LeTV Super TV."
