Fastweb, 11/09/12

Edward Liu, CEO of Beijing-based cloud computing-based content delivery network (CDN) provider Fastweb, announced in a recent letter to Fastweb customers that the company will maintain independent operations for a relatively long time following its recent acquisition by IDC service provider 21Vianet (Nasdaq: VNET) in order to guarantee maximum network stability and CDN service quality. Fastweb will maintain the current structure of its sales, operations, R&D, marketing, HR, and customer service departments. Liu emphasized that in addition to becoming 21ViaNet CSO, he will remain as chairman and CEO of Fastweb and continue to oversee all Fastweb operations.

21ViaNet announced its acquisition of Fastweb on September 20.
