Lenovo H1 FY 2012/13 Profit Grows 18% YoY

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) has announced its financial results for the six months ended September 30, 2012. H1 fiscal year 2012/13 revenue was USD 16.68 bln, up 21.7% YoY from 13.71 bln in H1 FY 2011/12.
Net profit attributable to shareholders for the period was USD 303.41 mln, an increase of 17.7% YoY from USD 257.72 mln.
Revenue from the company's PC business was USD 14.83 bln, up 14% YoY. Revenue from the Mobile Internet and Digital Home (MIDH) business, which was largely from smartphone sales in China, increased by 163 % YoY to USD 1.31 bln.
Sales in China accounted for 44 % of the company's total revenue.
Sales in Asia Pacific and Latin America (APLA) accounted for 21% of the company's total revenue. Lenovo's unit shipments in APLA grew 26 % YoY against a 7% decline for the overall market.
Sales in Europe the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) accounted for 20% of the company's total revenue. Lenovo's unit shipments in EMEA grew by 40% YoY.
North America accounted for 15% of the company's total revenue. Lenovo's unit shipments in North America grew by 8% YoY.
