Rumor: WP8 Smartphones to Hit China in December

An industry source revealed today that Nokia, HTC, and Huawei Device will launch five Windows Phone 8 handsets in China in December. The two Windows Phone 8 handsets Nokia will launch in Guangzhou on December 5 - the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 - will include a TD-SCDMA edition of the former, the Lumia 920T, for China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK).
HTC will launch the Windows Phone 8X and 8S in Beijing on December 6. The company has reached agreements with China Unicom (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) and China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) that will make the phones widely available for sale in December. The HTC 8X is expected to retail for more than RMB 4,000.
A source close to Huawei Device, the terminal subsidiary of Chinese telecom equipment and terminal manufacturer Huawei, said that the company's first Windows Phone 8 handset, the W1, is slated to go on sale in the second half of December, and to become widely available starting in January 2013. The W1 will retail for more than RMB 2,500.
