Foxconn Admits to Employing Underage Interns at Yantai Plant

A spokesperson for Taiwanese electronics manufacturer Foxconn (2038.HK; 2354.TW) admitted today that an internal investigation at the company's Yantai factory has confirmed that the factory had employed underage student interns. According to Foxconn, the company has sent all students back to their schools and dismissed Foxconn employees related to the incident.

China National Radio (CNR) has reported that vocational schools in the Yantai area were instructed by local government officials to send student interns to the Foxconn factory. Yantai is located in Shandong Province in Northern China.
