Communication Information News, 9/24/12

Tsinghua University's Network and Information Security Lab and Trend Micro (China) have issued a research report on China's online information security black market supply chain, revealing that at least 92,700 individuals are involved in China's online underground black market, posting over 100,000 posts and over 380,000 comments. In 2006, China's online underground economy had only 6,280 participants. The online black market consists of illegal markets for viruses and trojans, data breaches, zombie SNS followers, and black market virtual items. China's online banking industry had suffered over 20 unauthorized data breaches as of July 2012. Numerous media reports have appeared over the past several years about scams involving stolen QQ numbers, with dealers selling stolen QQ accounts obtained using trojans to other scammers.
