DCCI: 70% of China's Internet Users Have Microblog Accounts

According to figures released today by the Data Center of the Chinese Internet (DCCI), nearly 70% of China's internet users have unique microblog accounts. 88.8% of Chinese internet users aged 19 or above have microblog accounts, and growth continues steadily.

The DCCI report states that nearly half of microblog users click directly on text or image links to products advertised in microblog posts. 43.28% of microblog users follow between one and five corporate microblog accounts; 20.83% of users follow between five and ten accounts. More than half of all microblog users follow corporate accounts offering information on discount and brand updates - particularly in the areas of websites, media outlets, IT products, and apparel brands.
