Neusoft Employees Arrested for Stealing IPR

A recent internal IPR case at Chinese software provider Neusoft (600718.SH) has led to investigations into 28 people, more than ten arrests, and damages estimated at more than RMB 64 mln.
According to what is currently known about the case, a vice GM at Neusoft, surnamed Li, partnered with people including a person surnamed Zhang working in Neusoft's CT machine R&D department and a person surnamed Yue working in Neusoft's procurement department, enticing 17 core technical professionals in Neusoft's CT R&D department to steal technical documentation of the company's medical CT scanner machines with promises of considerable economic benefits. After stealing the documents, the co-conspirators were told to resign their jobs and regroup at an engineering plant in Shenyang's economic development zone owned by a Beijing-based company, and to continue their CT R&D work there.
The case is still in the investigation and trial stages. Sentences and damages have not yet been determined.
