Beijing Unicom Restricts Number of Broadband Terminals Per Account
Sina Tech, 7/25/12
China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) Beijing branch reported recently that it will permit simultaneous broadband use by a maximum of two terminals for 2 Mbps or lower broadband subscribers, of three terminals for 2 Mbps to 10 Mbps broadband subscribers, and up to four terminals for 20 Mbps or lower subscribers. When the number of terminals connecting to the internet exceeds the number specified in the service contract, their ability to access the internet will be affected, and pop-up notifications will encourage subscribers to decrease the number of connected terminals as quickly as possible. Internet connectivity will be restored within 20 minutes after the number of connected terminals returns to the contractually permitted number.
