China's 2012 TV Set Market May Face Oversupply

Beijing Times, 7/13/12

The China Electronics Chamber of Commerce (CECC) has estimated that China's TV set market demand will reach 42 mln units in 2012, falling short of the domestic industry's excess capacity and possibly resulting in large-scale overstock by the end of the year.

According to CECC's report, TV set exports rose 22% YoY to reach 23 mln units in the January-May 2012 period, but the average price of a TV set shipped overseas fell 20.7% YoY.
