China Revises Spectrum Allocation Regulations

MIIT, 6/18/12

China's State Radio Monitoring Center (SRMC) today announced it has completed a first draft summary and technical revisions of its Regulations on Wireless Spectrum Allocation in the People's Republic of China and opened it to public feedback in coordination with relevant government agencies.

The International Telecommunications Union (ITU) revised international radio spectrum allocation rules during the World Radiocommunication Conference 2012 in Geneva earlier this year. As the national agency overseeing China's wireless networks, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) announced it would revise its spectrum allocation rules issued in 2010 in accordance with the new international standards.

The regulations are typically revised every 3-4 years.

Editor's Note: The 2010 Regulations can be found on the MIIT website here.
