Rumor: Shanda Handset to Pre-Install Tencent Apps

An informed insider has revealed that Chinese internet company Shanda Interactive has reached an agreement with Tencent (0700.HK) under which the new Shanda handset will come pre-loaded with a suite of Tencent applications, including QQ mobile applications, Tencent's mobile messaging app Weixin, its QQ mobile browser, and Tencent security products. The Shanda handset, due for release in early June, will also be pre-installed with Shanda's Mobile IM application Youni, as well as mobile applications for its online bookstore Yun Zhong Shu Cheng and its LBS platform Qieke.com. The phone has been jointly developed by ARM, Ericsson, and Shanda.
Additionally, Zhou Hongyi, CEO of Chinese online security software developer Qihoo 360 (NYSE: QIHU) announced today that Qihoo 360's own new handset will also come bundled with an array of Tencent's QQ mobile services.
