NTT Data, an IT consulting company and subsidiary of Japanese Telecommunication's company NTT, has recently merged with its Chinese business and set up a new regional headquarters in Beijing. NTT Data currently operates in 36 countries and 150 cities. NTT Data entered the Chinese market in 1998, launching two subsidiaries in September and October that year, Beijing NTT Data Co., Ltd. and NTT Data (China) Co., Ltd., respectively. In 2012, the two subsidiaries were consolidated as NTT Data (China) Co., Ltd., and NTT Data formed its Chinese headquarters along with NTT Data (China) Investment Limited, which was set up at the end of 2011.
Fumio Kanda, President of NTT Data China, explained that there are two parts to NTT Data China's business. One part is focused on Chinese domestic IT services, including IT systems consulting, and solutions for customers in public, financial, and corporate sectors. The other part of the company is focused on providing services to Japanese software companies including outsourcing to China, IT systems integration and operational maintenance.
