China Telecom Unveils CDMA iPhone 4S Packages

China Telecom (NYSE: CHA; 0728.HK) yesterday announced its CDMA iPhone 4S contract plans, with 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB models available for RMB 5,780, RMB 6,899, and RMB 7,899 respectively, each RMB 100 less than China Unicom's (NYSE: CHU; 0762.HK; 600050.SH) prices. China Telecom began taking pre-orders online at midnight today, and 150 authorized retail outlets began taking pre-orders at 9 AM. iPhone 4S handsets are shipped within 24 hours, and retail outlets will notify customers by phone to pick up their handsets. The phone officially goes on sale on March 9.
The CDMA2000 EV-DO iPhone 4S contract plans are available at 11 different price points, ranging from RMB 49 per month (RMB 17 less than China Unicom's lowest fee, RMB 66) - which includes 200 MB of data, 100 minutes of voice calls, 30 hours of Wi-Fi, 30 SMS, and 6 MMS - to RMB 889, which offers 5 GB of data, 3,000 minutes of voice calls, 120 hours of Wi-FI, 180 SMS, and 18 MMS.
