Chinese Mobile Client Developer Lands USD 10 Mln Funding

Zhang Zhijian, CEO of Chinese mobile client vendor Yek Mobile, today disclosed that the company obtained two rounds of funding last year totaling nearly USD 10 mln from Beijing-based Android handset developer Xiaomi founder Lei Jun, IDG, and Lei Jun's Shunwei Capital.
Yek Mobile became B2C clothing website Vancl's mobile application vendor in November 2010. The two companies' have a revenue-share agreement under which Yek receive a small percentage of each order.
Yek received its first round of funding shortly after developing Vancl's mobile application, according to Zhang, which was primarily invested in R&D and in improvements to its level of service. The company has over 200 employees. Yek Mobile has lacked a PR staff and official website and is working to establish both.
Yek Mobile currently has over 30 B2C clients, including Moonbasa and Dangdang (NYSE: DANG), mainly providing them with mobile application services. Vancl is currently one of Yek's top three customers by revenue.
