Shineshow, Shanda Literature Partner on Micromovies

Shineshow, a film and television production JV by Chinese online media and game operator Shanda Interactive and Hunan Broadcasting System predecessor Golden Eagle Broadcasting System (GBS), announced recently that it had formed a strategic partnership with Shanda Literature under which it will film the online literature platform's top-selling "micronovels" as "micromovies," providing a means for pooling Shanda's literature and film resources.
Shineshow CEO Zhao Yurun said that in the future the company would select from Shanda Literature's top-selling online literature content in choosing film and television projects in which to invest. Zhao said that "micronovels" would serve as blueprints for the "micromovies," and that internet novelists would be invited to serve as screenwriters.
Shineshow focuses on a "Film 2.0" original content model. Its "micromovies" are scripted, acted, directed, and produced in partnership with M-Maker.com, the online original TV and film content production site which it operates, and have been viewed by a total of more than 40 mln users to date. M-Maker recently partnered with a number of domestic brands to establish an "M-Maker Micromovie Script Fund" that will provide more than RMB 10 mln in investment. Shanda Literature operates six online literature sites and is in contact with 1.4 mln online original authors. Rongshuxia.com, one of the company's online literature sites, recently launched a "micronovel" plan.
