Netgear Aims to Double China Sales in 2012
Netease Tech, 12/01/11
Li Yijia, general manager of products for global wireless networking solutions provider Netgear China, said recently that the company plans to increase its investment in product R&D, sales channels, and other aspects of its China business, with the goal of doubling sales in the China region in 2012. Netgear has sold no localized products since its 2002 entry into the China market; the new strategy calls for products designed to meet the pricing and feature demands of the Chinese market. The company has already set up a product testing center in China, and is preparing to release the RangeMax N300 wireless gigabit router (JWNR3200T), the 3G WNR2200 wireless router, and an additional four or five products in the near future. Netgear China is also expanding its sales channels in Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and other first-tier cities, and is working with more agents in second-tier cities to expand its sales network.
Founded in January 1996, Netgear is headquartered in Santa Clara, California. The company primarily produces wireless networking products for SME and home customers. Netgear has annual sales of more than USD 1 bln and average annual growth of more than 36%.
