Lenovo Announces New Executive Committee
Sina Tech, 11/09/11
Chinese laptop, PC, and handset manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) CEO Yang Yuanqing appeared at a press event today with the members of the new Lenovo Executive Committee (LEC). Yang said that the LEC had begun discussing a new four-year plan for Lenovo, including investments and acquisitions.
Lenovo first established the LEC in early 2009. The committee was initially established with the goals of increasing management efficiency and communication between the upper echelons of management and of planning, strategizing, and implementing major company decisions. The committee became Lenovo's highest-level strategy organization. A source inside the company previously claimed that all major Lenovo strategy in 2009 came from the LEC.
The members of the new LEC are: Lenovo chairman and CEO Yang Yuanqing, SVP and president for mature markets Milko van Duijl, SVP and president of the Lenovo Mobile Internet and Digital Home Business Group Liu Jun, SVP and president of the Lenovo Product Group Peter Hortensius, SVP and CFO Wong Wai Ming, SVP and HR director Qiao Jian, SVP and CTO He Zhiqiang, and SVP and global supply chain director Gerry Smith.
Besides saying that the new LEC had begun drafting a new four-year plan for the company, Yang revealed that topics of discussion for the LEC over the past several days had included acquisitions and investments - but declined to reveal any further details.
