Downloads of DXY.cn's Medication Assistant App Reach 250K

Since the release of Chinese online medical portal DXY's (Dxy.cn) Medication Assistant (Yongyao Zhushou) mobile application in late June, total iPhone, iPad and, Android downloads of the app have surpassed 250,000. The Medication Assistant's general use version is free to download, but the professional version, in order to serve the larger information needs of medical professionals, requires an activation charge of RMB 99 and provides medication guides for unconventional drugs and instructions for administering drugs.
Li Ning, product manager for the Medication Assistant, stated that the app's features are still geared to the needs of the medical community, and that in the future the app will launch an independent version catering to the needs of the general public.
Li Ning also stated that DXY would focus its mobile terminal development efforts in three main areas: medication information-based mobile apps; disease information-based mobile apps for the general public; and a social networking feature for doctor-to-doctor and doctor-to-patient communication.
