Tencent Video Invests Over RMB 100 Mln on Infrastructure

Liu Chunning, general manager of Chinese internet giant Tencent's (0700.HK) online video department, said in a recent interview that Tencent Video (v.qq.com) has already invested more than RMB 100 mln in servers, CDN nodes, and other infrastructure, and now has several hundred server nodes nationwide.
Tencent Video has broadcast 36 episodes of its original interview program "Who, When and Where", and plans to expand its original programming to include 25 series, covering topics such as current affairs, finance, entertainment, sports and gaming news, and the fashion and automotive industries.
Tencent has already finalized plans to produce a number of online TV drama series, several of which have already begun production. Tencent Video has also partnered with the China Film Group Corporation and "sixth generation" directors Ning Hao and Jia Zhangke in releasing a number of short-length films lasting approximately 20 minutes each.
