Lenovo Reveals Strategy for China's Lower Tier Cities

Chinese laptop, PC, and handset manufacturer Lenovo (0992.HK) yesterday announced its development strategy for 4th, 5th, and 6th tier cities in China, which entails the release of approximately 150 new products from over 45 different product lines. These include personal computing devices and accessories, the company's LePad and LePhone mobile device lines, and devices for the small and medium enterprise market as well as for enterprises with industrial computing needs. Lenovo also stated that it in addition to more than 1,000 retail experience stores, it will also open more than 200 outlets in 4th, 5th, and 6th tier cities as part of the company's mobile internet operations. Lenovo announced that it will also begin selling mobile internet products in all of its retail outlets in China.
With respect to marketing, Lenovo later this year will unveil its "one city, one sign" advertising campaign which involves working with local partners to erect an advertising billboard in the center of more than 2,200 county-level cities throughout China.
