Dolby Included in China's Terrestrial DTV Receiver Standards

Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby Digital have been selected as optional technologies by the Standardization Administration of the Peoples Republic of China (SAC) for China's recently released national Digital Terrestrial Multimedia Broadcasting (DTMB) Receiver Specification for set-top boxes and TVs, which will go into effect on November 1, 2011.
Dolby Digital Plus has been adopted by Chinese broadcasters such as Shenzhen Media Group, parent of Shenzhen cable TV operator Topway (002238.SZ), Jinan Cable, and Shanghai Media Group's (SMG) BesTV for terrestrial DTV, cable TV, and IPTV platforms, respectively. In addition, integrated circuit manufacturers such as NationalChip and HiSilicon are incorporating Dolby Digital Plus into their IC solutions for HD set-top box products, and more than 50 device makers, including Coship (002052.SZ), Changhong (600839.SH), Huawei, Jiuzhou, and TCL (000100.SZ), have adopted Dolby Digital Plus in their set-top boxes or HDTVs.
