Rumor: China Mobile to Procure 10 Mln 3G Terminals

China Mobile (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) will reportedly soon begin a 3G procurement tender for 7 mln G3 brand handsets and 3 mln G3 brand wireless wireline phones.
G3 handsets will be purchased in two installments of 3 mln and 4 mln units, both of which will include low-end and mid-range handsets, while the second procurement will also include mid-range G3 smartphones.
The second tender will also include 3 mln wireless wireline phones. Of those, approximately 1.8 mln will be desktop units with black-and-white display screens and 200,000 with color screens; approximately 500,000 will be handheld units with black-and-white display screens, and 300,000 will be handheld units with color screens. In addition, approximately 100,000 wireless wireline desktop phones for basic office use will be purchased, as well as another 100,000 wireless wireline desktop units with enhanced features for the office.
