Tencent, Intel Launch Joint R&D Lab

Intel recently announced at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in Beijing that it has partnered with Chinese internet company Tencent (0700.HK) to establish a joint R&D innovation lab.
The joint lab will focus on developing technologies and services for network convergence and services across multiple screens, and has already started developing comprehensive solutions for tablets and gaming. The lab currently has approximately 60 engineers from Intel and Tencent, and expects to eventually have a staff of 200.
Intel said that it would be responsible for developing hardware and operating systems while Tencent would focus on services, user experience, and products.
