China 2010 TV Shipments Up 16% YoY

Sun Xinguo, deputy secretary of the China Video Industry Association (CVIA), yesterday disclosed that China produced 114.93 mln TV sets in 2010, up 16.1% YoY. Included in that figure were 90.86 mln flat-screen LCD and plasma TV sets, up 24.7% YoY. Flat-screen TV sets accounted for 79.1% of total sales, up 5.4 percentage points compared to 2009. LED TV sales rose 25.8% YoY to reach 87.9 mln units.

According to the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China, TV set exports rose 21.4% YoY to 66.28 mln units in 2010, including 51.63 mln LCD TV sets, up 30.1% YoY.
