Rumor: Baidu to Focus on Client Applications in 2011

Chinese internet company Baidu (Nasdaq: BIDU) has internally proclaimed 2011 the "Year of the Client Application," with character input method software a key focus. Baidu will invest heavily in client software, including creating a Pinyin IME R&D team in order to grab market share in the input method space as part of its plans to expand its presence in the client software market.
