Rumor: Fanfou Receives Eight Figure RMB Funding
TechWeb, 1/06/11
Chinese microblogging platform Fanfou, originally founded by serial entrepreneur Wang Xing, has received tens of millions of RMB in VC funding from Green Pine Capital Partners.
Wang did not deny the rumor, saying Fanfou does not rule out the possibility of new funding, but when asked for details he declined to answer at this time.
Rumors circulated that Fanfou received investment from China Economic Net (CEN) (www.ce.cn) after it relaunched on November 25 were later confirmed by CEN editor-in-chief Cui Jun.
Wang earlier revealed that before Fanfou's closure last year, the site had deleted numerous posts, restricted sensitive keywords, and disabled search in order to meet regulatory requirements.
