Rumor: Dajiubao Shifts from B2C to E-Commerce Search

An industry source said today that Dajiubao.com, the B2C site founded by the Hilon Group in November 2007, recently transformed into a comparison shopping search site. The site had previously been focused on e-commerce services.
Hilon SVP and Dajiubao president Yang Beili said that since beginning trial operations, Dajiubao has grown to receive more than 300 orders per day, more than 1 mln visits per day, and over 600,000 registered users, with monthly growth still over 50%.
Dajiubao was jointly founded and operated by the Hilon Group and Chinese search engine and custom portal provider Zhongsou. The site leverages both Hilon's IT channel resources and Zhongsou's search technology. The site has established partnerships with a number of B2C sites, including Beijing-based IT products B2C e-commerce platform 360Buy, Chinese B2C e-commerce site Dangdang (NYSE: DANG), Joyo Amazon, Newegg, Redbaby, and Lusen.cn.
