Shanghai to Build 3D Video Training Base Next Year
JF Daily, 12/16/10
On December 15, spokesman Huang Hong of the Shanghai Municipal Digital Content Advancement Center's dedicated 3D content commission said that a new 3D video training base would be established in Shanghai next year to conduct comprehensive professional training in all aspects of the technology. The establishment of the Shanghai 3D Content Industry Commission was, to a large extent, a move to counter the present dearth of domestic 3D film content. Huang said that the commission plans to work with private investors to shoot a 3D television show, a 3D documentary, a 3D drama, a 3D cartoon, and a regularly scheduled 3D television news program. For the news program the commission has already formed a partnership with Shanghai Media Group's International Channel Shanghai (ICS) to shoot 10 25-minute episodes of a 3D travel program. The Shanghai Municipal Digital Content Advancement Center also plans to develop partnerships with more than 50 television stations around the country to jointly promote the development of 3D television.
